ARKRAY USA

MINNEAPOLIS, April 1, 2016 (PR NEWSWIRE) – ARKRAY USA, Inc., a leader in diabetes care products, announced that a study presented today at the 98th Annual Meeting of the Endocrine Society in Boston, MA found that 99.4% of participants gave the GLUCOCARD Expression Blood Glucose Meter System (BGMS) a positive ease-of-use rating. The GLUCOCARD Expression BGMS delivers accurate readings of glucose levels in blood and delivers readings using both a large numerical display and through audio readings. The GLUCOCARD Expression is one of the few BGMS available that provides audio results in either English or Spanish. The ability to accurately measure glucose levels in blood is essential for people afflicted with diabetes so they can effectively manage the disease, according to the American Diabetes Association (ADA).

“The results of this study reflects ARKRAY’s promise to deliver products that not only provide accurate and reliable readings of blood glucose levels, but are simple and convenient to use,” said ARKRAY USA President Jonathan Chapman. “Ensuring that people with diabetes fully understand how to use our meters is essential in helping them manage their disease and maintain good health.”

Diabetes, or diabetes mellitus, is a metabolic type of disease in which affected people have high blood glucose (blood sugar), either because insulin production is inadequate (Type 2), or because the islet cells in the pancreas no longer produce insulin (Type 1, sometimes referred to juvenile diabetes). People with untreated diabetes typically experience frequent urination, become increasingly thirsty and hungry. The ADA estimates that more than 30 million Americans suffer from either Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes and that 25.9% of American’s 65 years of age or greater will have diabetes.
