Duties and Responsibilities
Management of Marketing Department:
Within available resources, make staffing and hiring decisions to develop and structure (in consultation with USM President) a Marketing Department that is commercially astute in its understanding of the markets USM currently addresses and has the competency to help support entry into newly identified market segments and/ or channels. The medium term objective is to build a marketing team that is recognized, internally, by customers and within the medical devices industry as a center of excellence in terms of its understanding of the market, its creativity, its efficiency and it dedication.
Provide supervision and leadership within the Marketing Department, including building and maintaining a climate within the Marketing Department that attracts, retains and motivates top quality personnel.
Provide clear, concise unambiguous appraisals of all Marketing Department staff and support and follow up in a timely fashion on any and all identifies personal development action items.
Ensure at all times that the work product of all members of the Marketing Department is of the highest quality and in full compliance with the regulatory, legal and industry standards, including, ARKRAY’s [Code of Compliance].
Plan and administer USM’s Marketing operations budget.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of all marketing activities.
In conjunction with Sales, Finance and other pertinent departments, develop and maintain product pricing matrix.
Monitor and intelligence gather within the wider market to ensure USM’s visibility of competitive pricing within the market.
Design, implement and facilitate annual marketing plan for USM to support the objectives of sales.
Research and present to senior management potential new areas for growth, whether via new channels, marketing strategies or products.
Monitor industry dynamics and competitive products including product performance, sales, and market share trends.
Oversee the design and development of all marketing and sales material to include product literature, promotional material, direct mail pieces, catalogs, training videos, and other sales and marketing collateral material.
Oversee all corporate communication activities, including external and internal communications and public relations.
Oversee the management of all external marketing suppliers – including negotiation with media buyers and printers.
Support the Sales Department with regular and timely communication on industry, competitive and product changes. Provide training and product knowledge as necessary.
Develops close relationships with marketing personnel within key customers and customer targets.
Oversees the development of deep expertise in all aspects of the markets that USM addresses, including competitive products and companies, reimbursement and payors, managed care, channels, clinical aspects of disease states products are addressing and all aspects of healthcare provider practice.
Oversee the promotion of USM’s products and services through participation (in conjunction with Sales) in trade shows, conferences, customer events and key sales presentations.
Oversee the development, implementation and monitoring of processes and standards to ensure that all products, services and brands are properly positioned and supported.
Contribute as a member of the Senior USM management team within the full remit of its responsibilities.
Support Sales in relation to key account acquisition and development, including the development of presentations, programs and other marketing support as required.
Ensure that all activities and output of the Marketing Department reflects ARKRAY’s Group Spirit, Group Mission and Group Vision.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Healthcare or a related field. MBA preferred.
Five or more years experience in healthcare product management including a record of increased responsibilities and results.
Strong leadership and influencing skills.
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Demonstrated project management skills.
Ability to travel 25%.
Proficiency in communication, word-processing, spreadsheet and presentation software.
