Laboratory Technician II

We are currently seeking a Laboratory Technician II position to primarily conduct laboratory QS testing, data compilation, and results interpretation. This position will also assist in the development of procedures and protocols necessary to perform laboratory testing and evaluation studies for quality testing, complaint investigations and in the development and support of ARKRAY products.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepares samples for product evaluation including blood, urine, and saliva.

  • Performs laboratory testing and assists in clinical trials to meet QS specifications and to support Operations and D&S activities.

  • Maintains documentation in compliance with applicable regulatory programs.

  • Maintains laboratory facilities and equipment including calibration.

  • Compiles, presents and laboratory results.

  • Writes procedures, protocols and reports necessary to conduct laboratory activities.

  • Oversees receiving inspection and re-control of raw materials to ensure compliance with specifications.

  • Supports the production of contract-manufactured products through contact with contractors, establishment of testing procedures and issuance of test results/documentation.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • At least two years experience in a diagnostic lab or similar environment.

  • Must be willing to work with body fluids.
    • Preferred: Familiarity with urine strip and/or blood glucose diagnostic products.

  • Skill in phlebotomy.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Minimum of a two-year degree in laboratory training.
    • Preferred: Medical Laboratory Technician certification.

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing / Walking: Standing an entire shift may be required.

  • Sitting: Many tasks involve sitting for 4-8 hours at a lab bench or PC.

  • Stooping / Bending / Reaching: Phlebotomy, operating lab equipment, and clean-up may involve hand movements at any heights ranging from floor level up to 60 inches high and reaching depths of 18 inches.

  • Pushing / Pulling: Carts and dollies are used to move equipment and supplies and may contain materials weighing up to 75 lbs. Pushing and pulling of boxes on a cart may be required up to 10 feet and weighing up to 75 lbs.
