Market Development Manager
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide direction to and execution of program development activities including market testing and analysis.
- Develop and help execute comprehensive marketing strategies and tactics.
- Provide market insight and liaise with Marketing Product Development Team to drive new product development to exploit niche markets and developing market trends.
- Design and develop marketing strategies and sales materials for delivery through multimedia channels.
- Contribute to the development of annual budgets.
- Monitor and report product sales trends based on program results.
- Manage internal and external key supplier relationships.
- Leads and manages the assigned marketing team including setting objectives, developing talent and conducting annual performance reviews.
- Promote products and programs through participation in trade shows and some individual customer presentations.
- Join the Field Sales teams via sales calls to stay abreast of market trends and opportunities as well as gain information as it pertains to our customers' marketing needs.
- Report industry changes, competitive analysis and product trends to MarCom Team for external communication.
- Assist with market channel request for information in preparation for contract submission.
- Develop customer promotions and programs; manage co-op programs.
Knowledge and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare or related field; MBA preferred.
- Minimum three to five years experience in healthcare management preferred including a record of increased responsibilities and results.
- Strong working knowledge base of retail and consumer environment as it pertains to product pull through and marketing strategies is preferred.
- Working knowledge of managed care organizations and other health care plans in the ability to market successfully to their members, organization decision makers and the key prescribers is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Long-Term Care facilities and their relationship with distribution channels, managed care organizations and product reimbursement guidelines.
- Ability to manage projects within budget constraints with successful business growth through direct marketing efforts.
- Strong leadership and influencing skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated project management skills.
- Ability to travel up to 30%.
- Proficiency in communication, word-processing, spreadsheet and presentation software.
Physical Requirements
- Heavy computer use and sitting for long periods of time.
